Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder caused by the lack of the hormone insulin being produced in the pancreas, or the deficiency of the pancreas to produce enough insulin, which means the diabetes mellitus pathophysiology of the two types, very similar.Insulin is needed to process fats, protein and carbohydrates.
Diabetes Insipidus
Diabetes insipidus should not be confused with diabetes mellitus, as it is a completely different condition. All that is similar is the symptoms of increased thirst and urination. The treatment and causes are completely different.
Gestational Diabetes
Gestational diabetes is where a woman who has never experienced diabetes before, develops high blood sugar levels in the later stages of pregnancy.
Hyperglycaemia
Hyperglycaemia diabetes is when you have high levels of glucose in your blood, which occurs when the body does not have enough insulin.
Hypoglycaemia
Hypoglycaemia diabetes is a condition that occurs when there is abnormally low levels of glucose in the blood. Glucose is basically sugar and we all need a certain amount in our blood, so when the amount is too low, our blood becomes hypoglycaemic.
Pre-Diabetes
Pre-diabetes is a condition in which blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but have not yet reached those of diabetes.
